Join A Board
Thank you for your interest in Propel’s Board Connector program. The Board Connector program is currently on pause due to staffing leave with plans to resume in February 2025.
If you are interested in joining a board, you may still fill out an application to “Apply to Join a Twin Cities Nonprofit Board”, link on the right side of the webpage. In addition to detailing your skills in the application, please also name any organization you are interested in working with that is listed on our webpage. When the program resumes, we can connect you with one of those organizations if it seems like a match.
If you are an organization interested in having your profile posted on our Board Connector board opportunities website, please email us at boardconnector@propelnonprofits.org and we will be in contact with you when the program resumes. Find Board Members
Board Connector can be a great way to connect with potential board candidates. In our experience matching community members with nonprofit organizations, we have found that this approach works best for organizations that:
- Have at least one paid staff person
- Have been operating as a nonprofit for at least one year
- Have a board in place with regular board meetings, active participation by board members, and board officers in place
- Are relatively stable organizationally and financially
For nonprofits that operate with all volunteers, in the startup stage, or going through a period of big change, we have found that other approaches are more effective to identify prospective board members. If your organization fits the above criteria, email boardconnector@propelnonprofits.org for more information about finding new board members through Board Connector.

Organizations participating in Board Connector must agree to Propel Nonprofit’s Nondiscrimination Policy.

By submitting this application, you affirm that the organization adheres to Propel Nonprofits’ Nondiscrimination Policy.
Organizations will be listed on the Nonprofit Board Opportunities page for six months. If a connection has not been made by this time, you can decide to remove the posting or renew for one more six month listing, with a maximum listing time of one year.
