Andrea Sanow

I joined Propel in June 2020 as the marketing and communications manager after a decade of working in communications, marketing, program management, and community engagement for various intermediary or direct service organizations. Narrative change, storytelling, and digital strategy hold the most interest for me, but I often borrow a fellow communicator’s term and think of myself as a “Swiss Army Knife” when it comes to my work.

Most recently, I was communications manager at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, the largest nonprofit state association in the country. I have also worked for Arts Midwest and Augsburg University.  In 2012-2013, I completed a year of service through Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Francisco, CA. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Master’s of Fine Art in Creative Writing from Augsburg University.

Outside of work, I serve as board vice chair of the Radical Health Alliance, and as a board member on my HOA board. I like to garden in my community garden plot, read, cook, spend time with friends, weight lift, and watch sports with my partner and my dog.
