Champions of Good: Thanking Propel’s outgoing board members

Henry Jiménez

The beginning of our new fiscal year on April 1, 2025, meant that we were met with a bittersweet reality of saying goodbye to many outgoing board members whose leadership and guidance shaped our organization into what it is today.

This incredible group of people supported and helped the organization navigate:

  • The 2017 merger that led to the formation of Propel Nonprofits
  • The COVID-19 pandemic that saw us supporting PPP loans, technical assistance, virtual training, and more
  • An executive leadership transition and the retirement of founder and longtime leader Kate Barr
  • My onboarding as a new leader to the organization through which they have been a stable and guiding force
  • The uncertainty of the six months, offering us ideas and ways to focus and help us meet the current moment for our nonprofit sector

As an organization that helps nonprofits prepare for leadership transitions, we know that leadership transitions can be one of the most difficult things an organization can go through. From the search process through my onboarding, the board’s support of Propel, and eventually me, has been tremendous. Their long-term commitment is key to our stability and success. We are forever thankful, and I welcome them back anytime!

Please join me in expressing my gratitude and celebrating their service to Propel.
