Office Hours

What You Can Expect

Given our areas of expertise, we can offer thought partnership and guidance in the areas listed below.  We are considerate of current funding and political climates, where your nonprofit is in its fiscal year, and other additional context you provide for your specific situation.

During the course of our conversation, we will make recommendations and provide resources. Some of our recommendations might be for services Propel provides, and sometimes we will recommend you meet with an expert in a different field.

Here are some examples of what our team can help you with:

Cash Flow Planning

Including assistance setting up and using Propel’s cash flow projection template, and a review and refinement of an existing cash flow projection.

Budgeting & Reforecasting

This could include: reviewing Propel’s “10 Steps of Budgeting Resource,” reviewing and refining an existing budget, and/or coaching on reforecasting at mid-year and beyond.

Business Model Review

We can review elements of nonprofit business models, and offer coaching on understanding or changing individual business models.

Scenario Planning

You might’ve heard this phrase, “scenario planning,” emerge during times of uncertainty. We can review Propel’s scenario planning tools, and/or discuss your organization’s scenario plan and discuss strategies together.

Governance Questions

Discuss challenges, board roles and responsibilities, recruitment, and more with an expert.

Preparing for a Loan

Learn more about using debt as a strategic tool for your organization. We’ll discuss our process, loan products, repayment terms, required documentation, and more.

When signing up you will:

After submitting the sign-up form, you will receive a confirmation email. The week of your appointment, you will receive a meeting invitation with either directions to our office to attend in person, or a Microsoft Teams link to attend the meeting virtually.

Note: Office Hours are reserved for nonprofits and nonprofit leaders in Minnesota, the surrounding states, and the Native Nations that share this geography.

Who You’ll Meet With

Various Propel staff have set aside time for office hours in the coming months. If you have experience working with a Propel staff member or are a current client, you can sign up through this form and mention their name.

Right now, you are most likely to be paired with a loan officer & financial specialist who has experience and expertise in the areas listed above. You do not need to be interested in a loan to sign up for office hours, and we will not spend the time encouraging you to apply for one. Our goal is to be a partner as you navigate change and work toward strengthening your nonprofit’s impact and the community it serves.
